Originally the main road from Cowarr to Walhalla, this historic bridge has twice been restored since its construction in the 1880s. Crossing the Thompson River it is hidden within the Boola Boola state forest, and offers campsites with fire pits on the abutting river banks. The bridge can be accessed by a narrow pass in a regular vehicle in good weather, however the river crossing itself can only be undertaken by an appropriate four wheel drive. The road to the bridge is narrow, so caution should be taken on your first trip. The bridge allows pedestrian access to either side, and the campsites offer toilet facilities, with dogs and fishing also permitted.
