Spreading across the Strzelecki Ranges to the south of Latrobe Valley, is the Grand Strzelecki Track. It covers part of the Strzelecki State Forest, and travels from Jeeralang Junction through to Macks Creek. The destinations it passes are too many to mention here, however include such places as Mount Tassie, Jumbuk, Balook, and the Tarra Valley.
You can either start nice and close within Morwell National Park, or travel further in to places like Balook at Tarra Bulga to start your adventure. The track offers many parts that are graded easy to medium, however overall the track is classed grade 4, meaning that some parts are quite narrow and therefore previous hiking experience and skill would be required.
So grab a friend, jump in the car and check it out. It’s well worth the trek!
