What once was a rail line that serviced the bustling township of Yallourn and the adjacent power industry, has now become the Moe-Yallourn rail trail. Like all rail trails across Victoria, it is popular for walking, cycling, and horse riding. It is easily navigated by all walks of life, offering scenic views of farmland, Lake Narracan, as well as local mountains. It complements the variety of rail trails throughout the Gippsland region, and is a must see for any outdoors person.
The rail trail committee are always welcoming of new members with a passion for walking and outdoors, and plans are emerging to lengthen the trail along the Latrobe river. Come along, check it out, bring a picnic lunch, and head out for a stroll or fast walk to keep your heart pumping.
