Port Albert

There is rarely a Saturday morning in the peak fishing season where you won’t find a local Yallourn North resident on the road to Port Albert, heading to launch their tinny. There are also plenty of other attractions that the area offers for a great day out with family and friends. You can take a leisurely walk along the water and eat some freshly caught fish with chips at Port Albert Wharf, or dine next door at Wildfish restaurant if you are after a sit down experience.

The Winch House offers boat hire with 17ft half-cab boats that take 6 adults. They are low powered vessels so no licence is required. You can check out the Gippsland Regional Maritime Museum on Tarraville Road, and take a stroll through 150 years of maritime history. Whatever you feel like experiencing, take a drive over to Port Albert and take it all in!
